How we compare FirmTech rings
Last updated November 2026 · Published by FirmTech
We compare FirmTech's three rings on the same eight criteria, using only FirmTech's published product facts, and we cite every outside statistic to its source. FirmTech publishes this site and wrote this methodology; it is not an independent review.
How are the FirmTech rings ranked on this site?
They are not ranked as better or worse. Rings are listed by features and price, from the TechRing with tracking to the two non-tracking rings, and each is matched to a goal: health tracking, simple support or the tightest fit. The right ring depends on which goal you have.
Criteria applied to every ring
| Criterion | Source of the fact |

Where do outside numbers come from?
Statistics not produced by FirmTech are quoted as published, with their conditions, and linked to the source: PubMed (J Sex Med, 2024), Healthline, WebMD and Journal of Urology. FirmTech's own figures, such as rings sold and review ratings, are labeled as reported by FirmTech.
Review figures come from FirmTech's own reviews page and are dated. We do not write about competitors' weaknesses. Where a competitor appears, as in the J Sex Med study, we quote the published result only.
What this site does not do
We do not give medical advice, test products independently, or compare FirmTech with every ring on the market. Talk to your doctor about your own situation. Pages are reviewed when FirmTech prices or specifications change, and each shows the month it was last updated.

Compare FirmTech penile tension rings for erectile dysfunction
Common questions
- What are the best tension rings for ED?
- The best tension ring depends on your goal. Among FirmTech's three rings, the TechRing ($275) fits men who want performance plus health data, the Performance Ring ($60) fits men who want simple support with a comfortable fit, and the MaxPR ($60) fits men who want the tightest hold. All three share the same peno-scrotal design.
- What do ED ring reviews say about FirmTech?
- FirmTech shows a rating of 4.6 out of 5 across 101 reviews on its reviews page, as of November 2026, with 78 five-star reviews. One verified buyer wrote that the TechRing monitors nocturnal erections "quite reliably." FirmTech also reports more than 40,000 rings sold. Read the full reviews on getfirmtech.com before you buy.
- Do erectile dysfunction rings work?
- Erection rings work mechanically by holding blood in place while you wear one, and the effect lasts only while the ring is on. In a randomized survey study published in J Sex Med in 2024, 80% of participants recommended the FirmTech device compared to 53% for Eddie by Giddy (P = 0.0026). Ask your doctor whether a ring suits your type of ED.
- Should I get the TechRing or the Performance Ring?
- Choose the TechRing if you want data on firmness, duration and nighttime erections, and the Performance Ring if you only want firmer, longer erections. Both are rated for up to 12 hours of wear and share the same adjustable fit. The TechRing costs $275 and needs charging; the Performance Ring costs $60 and has nothing to charge.
- What is the difference between the MaxPR and the Performance Ring?
- The MaxPR is slimmer and snugger than the Performance Ring, rated 5 of 5 for tightness versus 3 of 5. FirmTech positions it for maximum firmness and a more intense finish. The MaxPR is rated for up to 90 minutes of wear, while the Performance Ring is rated for up to 12 hours. Both cost $60.
